The Aquarium at Forum Istanbul at Bayrampasa, Istanbul is a 7500 sqm fit out of a two storey underground space. The basic “cold shell” concrete walled space with attendant appropriate building services had been constructed by the landlord in accordance with Marinescape Performance Specifications and principle dimensions.
The Project took up to four years to be realised,
however the Specialist Works Supply and Installation took only nine
months to complete. The aquarium opened on the 24th of November
2009.
Marinescape Design undertook the complete design and
management thereafter of all elements in the design prcess
including: Acrylic panel implementation and specification
(approximately 65 tones), Life Support Systems, Theming and
Displays.
Turkuazoo, Turkey's first aquarium, opened its doors
to visitors in October 2009. It is situated in Europe's largest
shopping mall, Forum Istanbul Bayrampasa.
Turkuazoo Istanbul Underwater World is a Turkish
subsidiary of Global Aquariums, a multi-national company
specializing in investment and management of giant aquariums.
Before the end of its first year Turkuazoo welcomed
tourists from countries like Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Germany,
Bulgaria, Greece and Russia. In addition to historical places and
the natural beauties of Istanbul, Turkuazoo has become one of its
most important attractions.
Turkuazoo has hosted many top-level visitors from
countries such as the Minister of Finance of the Republic of
Turkey, Mr Mehmet Şimşek; President of Georgia, Mr Mihail
Saakaşvili; Prime Minister of Bosnia and Herzigova, Mustafa
Muzeyinoviç; former President of the Turkish Republic of Northern
Cyprus, Mr Rauf Denktaş; President; Prime Minister; Minister of
Foreign Affairs and Minister of Finance of Macedonia; Mayors
